As an official sponsor of the 14th annual MidPoint Music Fest, Freeosk has pledged to offer concertgoers a fast, fun, free way to discover their new favorite products.

And thanks to a unique partnership with music licensing service MusicLi, Freeosk will help concertgoers discover their new favorite local bands too.

As an exclusive offer available only at MidPoint, fans will be able to use the Freeosk mobile app to download free songs by six Cincinnati-based artists: Pop Goes The Evil, Bulletville, Culture Queer, The Harlequins, DAAP Girls and PRIM. The downloads are bonus to the free snack samples and band buttons the Freeosks will be giving away.

Founded by Brad Schnittger (guitarist of The Sundresses) and producer Dave Davis, MusicLi is an online library of locally- and regionally-produced music that can be licensed for commercial use. This gives artists a new source of revenue and gives businesses and brands access to a catalog of quality original music.

Freeosk is thrilled to be able to work with MusicLi in a manner that allows them to offer fans something for free, while still ensuring the bands get paid for their participation. The arrangement also marks the first time Freeosk has offered a digital download via its mobile app.

MusicLi will be a presenting sponsor of the MOTR Pub stage, and Schnittger and Davis will be at the fest encouraging bands and artists to sign up at

Jasmine Lorraine Poole (AKA “Wonk”) grew up in the hardscrabble portion of the American heartland. Kentucky, to be precise. Her world of loss and longing is familiar terrain for lovers of country, bluegrass and folk music but, just as Kentucky can be viewed as a bridge between north and south, Wonk’s music blends elements of Indie/Alternative rock with old school country. It’s hard to separate the wonk from the tonk. Nor should you try. Continue Reading

Fans can download the PRIM single “Older” for free by visiting the Freeosk at the Woodward Theater on Saturday.

The seeds for Electronic-tinged Dream Pop quartet Prim were planted in 2013 when accomplished Cincinnati musicians Ian Gullett (who also does production work) and Molly Sullivan discovered they’d both been asked to contribute original music to a local dance troupe project. Recognizing similar musical sensibilities, the pair began writing together, adding drummer Jake Langknecht and bassist Alessandro Corona to flesh out Prim’s ranks. The band began growing a local following with shows and the release of a handful of hauntingly captivating songs online, helping Prim earn a Best New Artist nomination at the 2014 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. The group doesn’t play locally much anymore, with the members busy with other projects (Sullivan’s solo career continues to draw more and more attention), so consider its MidPoint appearance a rare, can’t-miss treat. After the show, they will talk to you about love, death and how you are feeling.

Their album Supersizeit under Pontius Pilate was declared album of the year by Citybeat Magazine.
Their album Nightmare Band was nominated for Album of the Year 2012. They are currently recording and releasing their new album Bloodbath and Beyond in 2015. Continue Reading

Fans can download Pop Goes The Evil’s single “The Milky Shake” for free by visiting the Freeosk at the Taft Ballroom on Friday.

When The Dukes are Dead dissolved in 2012, singer/guitarist Lucas Frazier wasted no time constructing a new Rock & Roll machine. Christening it Pop Goes the Evil, Frazier, bassist Evan Roberts and drummer Jake Grove have been concocting dynamic and melodic Rock over the past three years, taking their awesome live show on the road, getting nominated for Cincinnati Entertainment Awards at home and releasing two albums (2013’s White Cream Soda and last year’s Love Stained Heart) to the world. PGTE’s music explodes with sex, darkness, humor and swagger, emitting a vibe that is sometimes theatrical like Rocky Horror, sometimes smoldering like a noir flick and sometimes blissfully confounding like a perfect David Lynch scene.

This is Pop Goes The Evil’s 2nd MPMF appearance. Continue Reading
